restoring grandeur

Built in 1929, this expansive tudor revival was planned for demolition until the new owners challenged our team to completely preserve and update the residence.

Originally built for a family of nine, a couple now inhabits this 15,000 square foot home. One of the starting points for the design was the client’s love for entertaining large groups. Structural changes were made to enlarge some rooms within the existing space to make the home function perfectly for two or 500 people at a time.

To restore the feeling of grandeur throughout the interior, exquisite details were restored and replicated with meticulous attention to detail.

Thoughtfully incorporating the owner’s collection of antiques, sculpture and art, the team created a stimulating mix of objects and colors that harmonize the interior and exterior spaces of the home. The resulting residence feels timeless and elegant, while updated to function perfectly for the owner’s modern-day entertaining needs.
